The following segment called High Fling Birds lists the first and last time the Jefferson Airplane performed any song live even if it were a few seconds such as a tease of the bass-line to Louie Louie. There are over songs, jams, and improvisational pieces. The shear fact that Craig Fenton included any documented note from a few seconds to an all out jam shows the impeccable research he wanted to provide.
We then explore the songs that were performed from each of the Jefferson Airplane releases. For historical purposes a few Jorma Kaukonen pre Airplane set lists are included, even one going back to One of the great and underrated bands to come out of the 60's the Great Society is given several pages.
You get a complete listing of their songs studio and live. The section of many of the live performances of the Airplane throughout the years with the set lists is worth the price alone. The extra tidbits can't be overlooked either. We find out in the Great Society had a reunion for a day without Grace.

Original bass-player Bob Harvey and first drummer Jerry Peloquin provide a great insight to the bands earliest flight. Marty Balin is tremendous with a Papa John Creach story and having to decide during the mid's if he should check out the Rolling Stones or Tony Bennett!
