Share printer windows 7 network

I've been continuing to work on this problem and I haven't made any headway. You might not have permission to use this network resource. As I've mentioned this Windows 10 computer has been able to access this shared printer on the Windows 7 computer for years with no problem and it just suddenly lost access in the last month. I found this in another thread where people are complaining of Windows 10 computers no longer able to access shared resources on a Windows 7 machine; the claim is that this update "KB "Security Update for Microsoft Windows"" is what's causing the problem and removing it solves the problem but what happens when Windows update just installs it again?

Check "A network Printer, or a printer attached to another printer," then click Next. Check "Connect to this Printer or to browse for a printer, select this option and click Next ," enter the full computer name and the share name you confirmed in the step and in "name" respectively.

If you cannot proceed to the next step even after clicking Next, check the connection with the print server. Was this helpful? Thank you! Your feedback is used to help us improve our support content.
